Counseling at Marathon Youth Services

MYS offers counseling/therapy services to all MYS residents. A Master’s Level therapist assists the residents in making their lives successful and assists in the progress of their individual service plan.

Counseling/therapy will include an initial evaluation of individual and family needs, the creation of a treatment plan, and continuing therapy sessions on a regular basis.  The therapist will provide guidance for the resident and family as they present their problems or concerns and set goals for the counseling process.  The therapist will then assist residents and family in reaching their goals, which will be re-evaluated throughout t he counseling process.

A variety of counseling methods and strategies will be employed and appropriate homework activities may be assigned to aid residents in learning how to help themselves and live their own lives successfully.
