Introducing...Ashleigh Grier, MSE, NCC
Hello, my name is Ashleigh Grier and I am the new Therapist for Marathon Youth Services Inc. The following will give you some background on who I am, the experiences I have had and my philosophy of counseling. My undergraduate degree is from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh in Human Services and I have a minor in Sociology. My Master’s Degree is in Community Counseling also from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. I am a member of the American Counseling Association, Wisconsin Counseling Association, I am a National Certified Counselor and I hold a Wisconsin Professional Counselor- in training license. I have thirst for learning more about counseling and enjoy attending professional conferences and trainings.
My foundation in counseling comes from the Person-Centered and Cognitive- Behavioral approaches. I would like to facilitate a safe environment for my clients to work towards the best version of self. I’ve found that by exploring how to take responsibility for one’s own choices a person can learn how to take charge of their life, to make it what they want. As a personally compassionate Therapist I believe in pursing understanding about each individual I meet with. I conceptualize how to care for others in relationship to their unique environments and cultural backgrounds. I believe that every person has their own unique story to tell and that their experiences are what make them an expert on their own life. Ashleigh Grier |
